The Remington Model 1100 Competition is a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun, a purpose-built target variant of the classic Model 1100 introduced by Remington in 2011 for trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Built on the same soft-shooting gas-operated action that made the 1100 the best-selling autoloading shotgun in history, the Competition model adds a suite of features aimed at serious clay shooters. It is chambered for 2.75-inch 12-gauge shells and fitted with a 30-inch overbored barrel with a lengthened forcing cone, topped by a wide 10mm target-style vent rib with a mid-bead and a large white front bead. The synthetic stock is fully adjustable, allowing the shooter to tune length of pull, drop at comb, drop at heel, and cast on/off with an Allen wrench. A nickel-Teflon finish on the receiver and internal parts promotes smooth, reliable cycling, while an Auto-Buster recoil system with interchangeable spring sets and a SuperCell recoil pad tame felt recoil for high-volume shooting.
