About the Winchester Model 131

The Winchester Model 131 is a .22 Long Rifle bolt-action rifle produced from 1967 to 1973. A magazine-fed repeater, it fed from a detachable 7-round box magazine and could also handle .22 Short and .22 Long ammunition. It featured a blued 20.75-inch (527 mm) barrel, open sights, a receiver grooved for scope mounting, and a plain walnut stock, and was aimed at the economy end of the plinking and small-game market.

The Model 131 belonged to a family of inexpensive Winchester .22 bolt rifles of the late 1960s and early 1970s, sold as affordable trainers and small-game guns before being dropped from the line in 1973.
