About the Winchester Model 9422M
The Winchester Model 9422M is a lever-action rimfire carbine, the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR) chambering of the celebrated Model 9422 family introduced in 1972. A scaled-down homage to the centerfire Model 94, it pairs a forged steel receiver and blued barrel with an American walnut straight-grip stock, feeds from an 11-round tubular magazine, and uses a side-ejection design that leaves the top of the receiver clear for scope mounting. The Magnum chambering delivers roughly twice the muzzle energy of .22 Long Rifle, extending its reach against small game and varmints out to well over 100 metres.
Widely regarded as one of the finest production rimfire lever-actions ever made, the 9422 series earned a devoted following for its wood-and-steel quality and slick action. The Magnum 9422M gave small-game hunters and pest controllers a hard-hitting rimfire in the classic Winchester lever profile, and clean examples command a strong collector premium today.
