The Beretta A400 Upland is a 12-gauge gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun designed for upland bird hunting, built on Beretta's A400 platform with the fast-cycling Blink (B-Link) gas operating system and a Steelium barrel. Introduced in 2011, it pairs a lightweight aluminum-alloy receiver with a traditional oil-finished walnut stock and the Kick-Off hydraulic recoil-reduction system in the buttstock to soften felt recoil. Chambered for 3-inch shells and offered with 26- or 28-inch Optima-Bore HP barrels, it is aimed at hunters who want a light, quick-handling field gun.

Beretta markets the A400 series' Blink gas system as the fastest-cycling semi-automatic shotgun action on the market, capable of firing multiple shots faster than a shooter can typically track, while the Kick-Off system's hydraulic dampers in the stock cut felt recoil by up to 50 percent.

Distinguished from the waterfowl-oriented A400 Xtreme by its wood stock, bronze-anodized receiver, and 3-inch (rather than 3.5-inch) chamber. Current production is offered with the Kick-Off Plus recoil-reduction system.
