About the Blaser S2 Safari
The Blaser S2 Safari is a German side-by-side double rifle built for dangerous-game hunting in cartridges such as the .470 Nitro Express. It uses a Franz Jaeger-type tilting-block lock-up and a manual hand-cocking system on the tang, letting the hunter carry it loaded but uncocked for safety. Hand-regulated barrels, ejectors and express sights make it a premium purpose-built stopping rifle for African big game.
Blaser introduced the S2 as its flagship double rifle, combining the firm's engineering approach with the classic side-by-side format prized by African professional hunters. Its hand-cocking tang slide is a distinctive safety feature, keeping the rifle chambered but inert until the shooter deliberately cocks it on game.
