About the Cimarron Bisley
The Cimarron Bisley is a single-action revolver chambered in .45 Colt, reproducing the Colt Bisley target sixgun of the 1890s. Built on a frame roughly 3/16 inch longer than the classic 1873 Peacemaker, it features the distinctive Bisley humpbacked grip, a wide low-swept hammer spur, and an enlarged trigger guard intended for deliberate, accurate target and field shooting. It ships with a color case-hardened frame, blued barrel and cylinder, and two-piece walnut grips, and is offered with 4.75-, 5.5-, and 7.5-inch barrels.
The Bisley grip and hammer take their name from the Bisley shooting ranges in England, home of the National Rifle Association of the United Kingdom, where Colt's original Bisley Model of 1894 was aimed at competitive target shooters. Cimarron's reproduction keeps that heritage alive for Cowboy Action Shooting and Western enthusiasts.
