The Cimarron U.S. Cavalry Buffalo Soldier is a single-action revolver reproducing the 1873 Colt Single Action Army as issued to the U.S. Cavalry, honoring the African American 'Buffalo Soldier' regiments of the 9th and 10th Cavalry. Built by A. Uberti in Italy and imported by Cimarron Firearms, it is chambered in .45 Colt with a 7.5-inch barrel, color case-hardened frame, blued barrel and cylinder, and one-piece walnut grips. The gun carries period-correct military inspection markings including the OWA cartouche and a 'U.S.' stamp on the frame.

The nickname 'Buffalo Soldiers' was given by Plains Native American tribes to the troopers of the U.S. Army's segregated 9th and 10th Cavalry regiments, formed after the Civil War, who carried the .45 Colt Single Action Army on the western frontier.
