The Pedersoli Cook & Brother Artillery Carbine is a modern .58 caliber percussion, muzzle-loading carbine built by Davide Pedersoli of Italy as a faithful reproduction of the short artillery carbine made by the Confederate firm of Cook & Brother during the American Civil War. It pairs a 24-inch round barrel carrying five-groove rifling with a 1:48 twist with a hardwood stock and two barrel bands, firing a patched .577-caliber Minié ball over a black-powder charge. Fitted with a traditional sidelock percussion mechanism, adjustable sights and a wooden ramrod, it is aimed at re-enactors, collectors and black-powder shooters seeking a period-correct Confederate long arm.

The original Cook & Brother was one of the largest private arms makers in the Confederacy, and its compact artillery carbine was issued to mounted and artillery troops. Pedersoli's reproduction keeps the distinctive short barrel, two-band stock and brass-mounted lines of the wartime pattern for modern re-enactment and black-powder use.
