About the Winchester Super X4

The Winchester Super X4 (SX4) is a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun introduced in 2017 as the successor to the Super X3. It uses Winchester's Self-Adjusting Active Valve gas system, which automatically meters gas to reliably cycle a wide range of 2 3/4-inch, 3-inch, and 3 1/2-inch loads. Built on a lightweight aluminum-alloy receiver with a back-bored, chrome-lined barrel and Invector-Plus choke tubes, the SX4 features enlarged controls, a drop-out trigger group, and an Inflex recoil pad. It is marketed primarily as a waterfowl, upland, and clay-target hunting shotgun.

The Super X name traces back to Winchester's Super-X line of high-velocity shotshells; the Super X auto-loading shotgun family (SX1 through SX4) has been a mainstay of Winchester's semi-automatic hunting offerings since the 1970s.
