The Remington Model 1882 is an American side-by-side double-barrel hammer shotgun, a top-lever break-action gun with twin external hammers and double triggers chambered in 10 and 12 gauge. A typical late-19th-century field and market-hunting double, many were built with Damascus (twist) steel barrels intended for black-powder shotshells.

In the 1880s a side-by-side hammer gun like the Model 1882 was the working tool of the American market hunter, who supplied wild game to city restaurants by the wagonload before conservation laws ended the trade.
